APPLICATIONS
December 13th, 2018 – February 13th, 2019
It all starts with online applications, then we will assess the fit between the startups and the program in order to invite those that can benefit the most from collaborating with the SOL Housing Partners.
We’ll be looking at:
- How the solution addresses the City & Partners Challenges and improves city life;
- How can SOL Housing provide value in terms of market reach, tech solutions, etc.
- How solid is the business model;
- Solution readiness for pilot development;
- Growth potential and scalability;
- The complementarity of skills within the team;
SELECTION
February 14th, 2019 – February 26th, 2019
The startups with the better fit with the program will be invited to a remote pitch session, where they will present to the SOL Housing partners their solutions and explore their fit with the program. As a result, the 20-25 that can clearly benefit most from collaborating with the SOL Housing partners will move forward to the Bootcamp.
BOOTCAMP
March 18th, 2019 – March 22th, 2019
The one week Bootcamp is composed of 1-on-1 partner meetings, talks, and workshops, that will enable the startups to further explore the opportunities with the SOL Housing partners, and benefit from useful learnings & skills for the program. At the end of the Bootcamp, the partners will select the startups that will move forward to develop pilots.
Physical presence: Full working hours presence will be required throughout the whole week. Minimum 2, maximum of 3 members of the team (optimally one Business-oriented and one Tech oriented).
PREPARATION
March 26th, 2019 – April 26th, 2019
The key to a successful implementation is a well-planned preparation. The selected teams will work closely with the partners, to set the criteria for a successful pilot, and arrange all the operational requirements.
Physical presence: Not mandatory, depending on the nature of the pilot. A 2 hours approximate weekly sync (physical or online) with the Partners & Beta-i might be necessary.
EXPERIMENTATION
April 26th, 2019 – June 26th, 2019
This is the time of action and certainly the highlight of the program. For 2 months the teams will work together with the Partners to develop a pilot and experiment their solutions.
Physical presence: Not mandatory, depending on the nature of the pilot. A 2 hours approximate (physical or online) with the Partners & Beta-i might be necessary.
DEMO DAY
June 27th, 2019
Demo Day is the one day you are called to present the results of the pilot you have been running during the 2 months of Experimentation.>
Physical presence: Have at least 2 members of the team present.
SOL LAB
ongoing
After the end of the program, the most successful startups will have the opportunity to continue their pilots in the safe environment of the SOL Lab, where they will have access to perks & benefits to facilitate the ongoing implementation and integration.
A program that enables us to foster our innovation culture, while addressing the specific goals of our group of companies. With startups, we receive a freshness and agility that are not common in the corporate environment.
Manuela Calhau, Board Member at Sonae Sierra
The reasons why we have decided to join the program rely on, firstly, the leadership, the Municipality is key for assuming this role then we have several partners that we recognize as key for the responses the problems need, then, of course, we believe we may work together really hands-on. It’s not that easy to find an ecosystem like this one. Lisbon is a good city with the agility needed to implement some of these solutions.
